Gold seekers killed in Jebel ‘Amer

An armed group killed two people and injured a third on Wednesday September 12 in Jebel ‘Amer, El-Sref Beni Hussein Locality, North Darfur. Radio Dabanga was informed by a witness that an armed group, believed to be pro-government, attacked three brothers in a gold mine in Jebel ‘Amer. The three brothers were seeking gold when they were attacked. According to the witness, the armed group opened fire on the three brothers when they tried to resist. Mohamed and Adduma Abdel Rahman Muhajir were killed, while the third brother, Abbeker Abdel Rahman Muhajir, was severely injured. Abbeker was taken to Saraf Omra hospital for treatment. “After attacking the brothers, the militants looted their money and fled”, the witness added.
