Four people died in a traffic accident in South Darfur, near Nyala’s Technical College on Monday morning. The police says that the number of accidents is increasing.

The collision between a minibus and a water tanker also caused injuries to a large number of passengers of the minibus. They have been taken to hospital in Nyala for treatment. The water tanker was on its way from Otash camp for the people near the state capital of Nyala.

Five people were killed in separate traffic incidents in Nyala on 14 November last year, including three residents of the Otash camp.

The number of traffic accidents in Nyala has increased recently “because of drivers’ non-compliance with traffic rules”. According to the traffic police, the increase in accidents in the city is also caused by the influx of used cars from neighbouring African countries.
