A secondary school student was shot dead in Nyala, capital of South Darfur on Tuesday. Three people were killed and others injured in armed robberies in North and Central Darfur.

A listener reported to Radio Dabanga from Nyala that ‘Abbala paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces’ raided the house of Adam Burma, Sheikh of the Iringa tribe.

The house is located in the Dakar Hilla district near Domaya camp for the displaced, he explained. The attackers shot and killed the sheikh’s son, 17-year-old El Tayeb Adam Burma.

Three people were killed and five others were injured in an attack by armed robbers on a commercial vehicle on the El Tina-Saraf Umra road in North Darfur’s Saraf Umra.

In Central Darfur, a number of people suffered various injuries in an armed robbery on two passenger lorries. The vehicles were on their way from Foro Baranga in West Darfur to Um Dukhun in Central Darfur.

One of the victims told Radio Dabanga that the two vehicles were ambushed in the area of Sali. “The attackers told us to disembark at gunpoint. They beat us with whips and robbed us of all our belongings.”
