The residents of Ed El Teen district in El Gedaref State have complained that their houses, agricultural lands and gardens were flooded by water from a broken dam which forced a number of families to leave their houses and caused damage to crops in the gardens.

The people of Ed El Teen district were surprised in the poll with Radio Dabanga on Wednesday of the government’s construction of the dam next to residential areas and demanded speeding up getting rid of the dam water so as not increase the damage.

They demanded the government to re-build the dam away from the residential areas in order to preserve life and property.
