Five men in military uniforms attacked three young women, aged 17, 20, and 21, as they tilled farms east of Kator in East Jebel Marra.

The men, who were riding two camels and a donkey, attacked the farmers and raped them at gunpoint. A witness said that the perpetrators fled. The girls were brought home to be treated with traditional medicine.

In a separate incident, four masked gunmen raped two women at gunpoint in Gallab, 20 kilometres from Tabit. A witness told Radio Dabanga that the victims’ husband were forced to watch. The gunmen escaped.
