Five people, including a baby, died in a traffic accident with a military vehicle on the road to El Fasher from Zamzam camp for displaced people in North Darfur on Sunday afternoon. Militiamen hijacked a vehicle in West Darfur, seriously wounding the driver.

A witness from Zamzam reported that the commercial vehicle carrying several passengers collided with an Ural vehicle of the Sudan Armed Forces near the entrance to El Fasher. The collision killed five passengers outright, including two women and one of their babies.

Sirba, West Darfur

Three armed men wearing military uniforms robbed a commercial vehicle on its way from Sirba to Kolbus on Saturday morning, the Sirba camps coordinator told Radio Dabanga. The militants opened fire on a Land Cruiser, carrying consumer goods and passengers, seriously wounding the driver.

They hijacked the vehicle after forcing all passengers out. The joint Sudanese-Chadian soldiers pursued the culprits and managed to return the vehicle safely. The wounded driver was transferred to El Geneina hospital.
