Fire destroys 15 houses in Yassin, E Darfur
A “massive fire” broke out in the town of Yassin, East Darfur, “completely destroying” 15 houses on Monday afternoon.
Sources were not sure what the cause of the fire was. However, they noted that “the lack of ashtrays and cigarette butt disposals” in the town may contribute to starting “destructive” flames.
They told Radio Dabanga the incident in Yassin occurred at the Al Seda Al Ali neighborhood.
Witnesses appealed to the town’s residents to use ashtrays and to authorities to provide aid to families who lost everything to the flames.
