Security authorities arrested two men in Zalingei and are holding them incommunicado. Gundus Zubair, a dealer in the market, and Ali Mohamed Hamid, a primary school teacher, were arrested yesterday. A source told Radio Dabanga from Zalingei that the detainees are being held in an undisclosed location and that they were prevented from being visited by their families and lawyers. Human rights defenders expressed concern that they could be tortured or subjected to ill-treatment. They called on the competent authorities to release them or grant them a speedy trial.
