Farmers shot in Gireida, South Darfur
A farmer was killed and seven others wounded in attacks by gunmen in Gireida in South Darfur on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, three janjaweed shot El Fadel Mohamed Ali dead on his farm at Naga El Agareb village, 20 kilometres east of Gireida, a listener told Radio Dabanga.
He said that on Sunday, ten militant herders opened fire on a group of farmers tending their farmlands near Hashaba village. Adam Suleiman Sahrawi, Mohamed Saleh Adam, Adam El Tom, Ali Omda, and Mousa Yagoub sustained bullet wounds and were taken to Gireida hospital.
Farmers Ibrahim and Mohamed Hasan Mugadam were shot at their farm near the village of Abdos. The ten attackers then robbed them and fled.
