The coordinator of Murnei camps for the displaced told radio Dabanga that at 11 pm on Thursday evening, militiamen on camels and horses opened fire on a group of farmers camping at Tullus, southwest Murnei. Three of the farmers, including a woman, were transferred to El Geneina hospital in serious condition.

Hijacking

Also on Thursday, a vehicle belonging to the national company for drilling wells was hijacked on the El Fasher-El Malha road in North Darfur.

A witness told Radio Dabanga that militiamen in three vehicles mounted with Dushka machineguns intercepted and stopped a new double-cabin Toyota Hilux carrying a number of water engineers at Um Marahik. The engineers were on their way from El Fasher to El Malha.

The bandits forced the engineers from the vehicle, and robbed them of their valuables, money and mobile phones. They then took the vehicle and headed westwards in the direction of Kutum locality.
