A man was killed near a camp for displaced people in Gireida locality, South Darfur, on Sunday.

A relative, who happened to be in his company, reported that three armed men intercepted them between Babanusa camp to Dahab Sharwa. The two men were on their way to cultivate their land.

They opened fire on them and shot dead Salah Ahmed Adam Ibrahim on the spot. His relative managed to escape the attackers and fled to the camp, where he told the people what had happened.

Camp residents in a rescue team immediately went out to track down the perpetrators. They discovered their settlement, and after negotiations, a suspect was handed to the rescue team. He has been handed over to the police.

Also in Gireida locality, a villager was shot dead and two men were wounded in Jertobik on Saturday, when an armed gang robbed the village.
