‘El Fasher security campaign works well’: North Darfur security head

The authorities in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, announced that the security campaign that started eight months ago is working well.
Hightened security measures in El Fasher resulted in the seizure of more than 150 unregistered motorcycles, some of which were used in criminal operations, the head of the North Darfur Joint Security Chamber, Omar Basheri Abdelrahman, told reporters in El Fasher on Saturday.
He added that the Chamber managed to recover a vehicle belonging to the Ceremony Department of the North Darfur government, “only hours after it was hijacked in El Fasher”.
The security head stated that the Chamber’s efforts have contributed to increased stability in El Fasher in the past eight months. He stressed that the security authorities “will not allow any breach of the security rights of the citizens”.
