El-Fasher-El Tina road re-opens in North Darfur after 13 years

On Wednesday morning, authorities in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, officially dispatched a large convoy of transport lorries destined for El Tina, on the Sudanese-Chadian border.
The road between El Fasher and El Tina is in use againafter being closed for 13 years because of the rampant insecurity.
“The re-opening was inaugurated with the departure of a convoy of more than 90 lorries, laden with commodities to be traded in the most eastern locality of North Darfur,” a trader reported to Radio Dabanga.
He said that the traders, lorry owners, and consumers expressed their satisfaction about the efforts of the North Darfur government to securethe El Fasher-El Tina road.
