Driver, companions hijacked in North Darfur road robbery
A driver and his two companions have beenhijacked during a road robbery in North Darfur on Wednesday afternoon.
A witness told Radio Dabanga that a group of gunmen in two Land Cruisers intercepted two commercial vehicles from Omdurman near Mount Qawra on the El-Fasher-Kabkabiya road in North Darfur.
The gunmen stopped one of the vehicles at gunpoint, while the driver of the second vehicles managed to escape. The attackers then abducted the driver Mohammad Abdullah and his two companions, and made off with vehicle and captives, turning north of Mount Qawra.
The second driver fled to Kabkabiya where he alerted the local police as well as Unamid.
