Farmers injured by herders in North Darfur

Four farmers have been injured – two seriously – after an attack by herders on their farm in Saraf Umra locality in North Darfur.

Four farmers have been injured – two seriously – after an attack by herders on their farm in Saraf Umra locality in North Darfur.

Sheikh Abdel Razeq told Radio Dabanga said that a group of herders drove their cattle and sheep onto the farms at gunpoint this morning.

When the farmers resisted and tried to drive the livestock off their farms, the herders beat them with whips and rifle butts.

Ahmed Ismail, Mariam Adam Abkar, Ishak Abdulrahman, and Mariam Abdullah Saleh were all badly injured. Sheikh Razek said Ishak was stabbed and one of his legs was broken in the beating. Mariam Abdullah Saleh is in a coma. Both were transported to Zalingei hospital.
