Doma camp appeals to authorities and organisations to save school

Displaced people and civil society leaders in Doma camp near Nyala appeal to the state government of South Darfur and humanitarian organisations to take action to restore the school before the new academic year approaches. A civil society leader told Radio Dabanga that the school’s foundations are practically non existent with 75 percent of students being forced to sit their classes on the floor with no chairs.There are also no textbooks, with students and teachers taking to buying them from the market. Teachers are also being forced to sit on mats in one office with no tables or chairs. He appealed to authorities of South Darfur and all education officials to save the school by providing construction means, teachers and all curriculum materials before the start of the school year.
