Doctors and health insurance staff in West Darfur have been on strike since Saturday, against the violence by a group of militants in a pharmacy.

One of the employees of a health insurance agency in Foro Baranga told Radio Dabanga that the incident occurred when militants came by a pharmacy with a prescription for a medicine.

The medicine was out of available in the pharmacy, and the pharmacist said that the men had to buy it outside, the employee said. The man and the other militants then beat the pharmacist and the other staff. They sustained various injuries.

The strike of the health workers was reported yesterday. The employee said that they have decided not to return to work until the authorities have arrested the perpetrators, and put a halt to the aggression by militiamen in the area.
