Displaced shot dead ‘probably’ by Abbala gunmen, N. Darfur

A displaced man from camp Dankoj in Saraf Omra locality, North Darfur, was shot dead by three gunmen who “probably” belong to the Abbala tribe, the victim’s father told Radio Dabanga.
The perpetrators invaded the home of Mubarak Mustafa Ibrahim Ismail on Tuesday night and told him to hand them over the key of his motorbike.
When Ismail told the gunmen he was not in possession of the key he was shot dead, the father recounted.
After the incident, several unidentified militants invaded the camp and started firing shots in the air for about 30 minutes, eyewitnesses told Radio Dabanga. The shooting caused “extreme fear and terror among the displaced”.
Dankoj’s population is frightened and is urging UN to protect them and UNAMID to patrol the area day and night.
