Displaced people whipped, robbed – policeman injured in West Darfur

Several displaced people were whipped and robbed by pro-government militias near camp Bir Dageeg of Sirba locality in West Darfur. A witness told Radio Dabanga that the incident occurred as the people returned to the camp after shopping in the nearby Kondobe area. Five of the displaced were lashed with whips while the pro-government militias stole SDG 2,200 ($500) and robbed them of their possessions, cell phones, and luggage. The witness also said that the victims found Musa Adam, a policeman from Abu Suruj, lying on the ground with bleeding legs after the same pro- government militias allegedly shot him in the legs and fled.File photo
