Displaced man tortured for speaking out against rape

A displaced man named Abdul Rahman Ali Dudu was viciously attacked by security at Dar El Salaam camp in Gereida, South Darfur on Tuesday. Sources said security sliced off his nose with a machete, destroyed his teeth and subjected him to other torture techniques. He was taken to Gereida hospital for treatment. Dudu was apparently known for speaking out against injustices he saw affecting displaced people and in particular women. On Monday he was reportedly berated for speaking out against security services using their offices for forced prostitution and rape. Security then reportedly turned up at his home on Tuesday and took him to an unknown place where they tortured him.
