Displaced girl raped in West Darfur, three raped in Jebel Marra

On Sunday evening the coordinator of Sirba camps told Radio Dabanga that a number of children found the victim raped and in a coma.

He said that people followed the perpetrator’s tracks that ended up at the headquarters of the joint Sudanese-Chadian forces in the area.

They explained that the force commander promised to investigate the case to find the culprit. The coordinator explained that the girl was transferred to a hospital in El Geneina for treatment.

Tabit

On Monday afternoon militia members raped three women including a minor at Tabit in Tawila locality, North Darfur.

A woman relative of the victims told Radio Dabanga that the incident occurred seven women went out to collect firewood and were intercepted by four militiamen on camels.

“The men seized three of them and raped them. They beat the other four women with batons and rifle butts that caused them serious injuries.”

She added that the victims were transferred to Tabit health centre for treatment.

“On Tuesday, the same militiamen attacked 13 women while they were collecting straw, beat them, and burned the straw loaded onto the backs of their donkeys.”
