Disease, air raids kill Darfur livestock

Three cows were killed in an air raid in Dar El Salam locality, North Darfur. In East Jebel Marra, livestock has been dying of an as yet unknown disease for the past two weeks.
Speaking to Dabanga, a farmer from the area said that an Antonov of the Sudanese Air Force bombed the area of Abu Zerega in what is popularly known as East Jebel Marra. “No human casualties were reported.”

Others reported from East Jebel Marra that over the last two weeks, large numbers of cattle, sheep, and goats have died of a mysterious disease, causing severe diarrhoea and swelling of the ears and legs.
