Discovery of killed tribesmen in South Darfur

Six bodies with bullet wounds were found on a road near El Radoom town in South Darfur on Thursday.

The six people who succumbed to bullet wounds were recognised as being members of the Gimr tribe, a witness told Radio Dabanga. A Gimr tribesman was among the people who discovered the bodies on the road.

The six had been on their way from the traditional gold mining areas to spend the Eid El Adha holiday with their families, the witness explained. “They were killed on the road by armed persons, who stole their money and property.”

People from the area set up a team to track down the footprints of the shooters. The team mostly consists of Gimr tribesmen.

The witness added that the discovery of the bodies sparked panic among the residents in the area.
