Dinner to welcome new European ambassadors to Sudan

The Sudanese-European Friendship Association (SEFA) organised a dinner for the new British, Italian and Spanish Ambassadors to Sudan.
The dinner was attended by all the European, American, and Arab Ambassadors, the Delegation of the European Union to Sudan stated in a press release today.
Prof Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, speaker of the Parliament, Abdelrahman El Mahdi and Musa Ahmed, assistants to the President, and Dr Mustafa Osman Ismail, chairman of the Political Committee of the National Congress Party attended the dinner, as well as most members of the Association and a number of media representatives.

Addressing the event, Jamal El Wali, acting president of SEFA, called for more dialogue between Sudan and Europe in all areas at all levels, the press release reads. He emphasised the role of SEFA in bringing public diplomacy between Sudan and Europe.

EU Ambassador Tomas Ulicny highlighted the importance of cooperation between Sudan and Europe in the area of migration. He also pointed to the importance of a national dialogue and peace, as well the respect for human rights, which when reached will positively affect the Euro-Sudanese relations.
