‘Deteriorating security in parts of East Darfur’: Unamid

The security situation in and around Muhajeriya town in East Darfur has been “deteriorating, with accounts of increased movement of armed groups around the town,” according to a report by Unamid. The latest update via the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says that despite the deteriorating security situation, some displaced people from various locations, including Shearia town and Abu Dangal, have returned to Muhajeriya town, according to the government’s Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC).The Commissioner of Yassin locality has called on humanitarian organisations to provide assistance to these returnees.
