Darfuri students to be exempted from university fees

The chancellor of the University of Khartoum has reportedly instructed all of the university’s deans to exempt Darfuri students from registration and tuition fees for this year, Radio Dabanga learned on Tuesday November 20. The chancellor announced that all Darfuri students, who have been admitted to public universities this year, should be exempted from registration and tuition fees, as stipulated in the Abuja Agreement. Abdul Malik Naeem, a spokesman for the university, stated that the chancellor directed all deans to immediately compensate the Darfuri students who have already paid the tuition fees for this year.The status of all students will be checked with the Darfur Regional Authority, the spokesman added.
