Yasser Arman, the secretary-general of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM_North) gathered leaders of the various units of SPLM and other Darfuri factions for a presidential summit on Monday.The meeting is supposed to kick off preparations for the joint work between various armed movements in the states of Darfur.

Arman accused the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) of pushing the country to war in South Kordofan, according to an interview in the Asharq al-Awsat newspaper. He said he is keen to gather momentum to fight in the Blue Nile.

Arman had accused the Sudanese president Omar Al-Bashir of using food as a weapon of war in South Kordofan, last week.
