Egyptian authorities arrested activist Sudanese Mohamed Adam El Haj Yousef, known as Wad Tregul, at El Duggi district of Cairo, on Sunday. His family say he is to be deported to Khartoum.

According to reports from Cairo, El Haj (36) who originally hails from Mellit in North Darfur, entered Egypt legally six years ago.

Mohamed’s relatives reported that they managed to speak to him after three days of detention, saying that he is in good health, but that he would be deported to Khartoum.

Mohamed’s relatives appealed to the Egyptian authorities to stand with him and not to deport him to Khartoum.
