On the occasion of the advent of Eid El Fitr that will conclude the fasting month of Ramadan on Tuesday or Wednesday, the Darfur displaced wish all Muslims a blessed Eid El Fitr. They call for peace and stability in Darfur so that they will be able to return to their places of origin.

According to the chairwoman of the Women Affairs Committee of the Shaddad camp for the displaced in North Darfur's Dar El Salam locality, “there are no signs at all in the camps that the feast is nearing. Because of the increased militia attacks on the displaced, the people's opportunities to raise an income have significantly been diminished”.

She called through Radio Dabanga for “the provision of services and security in the villages of origin so the displaced can return, and celebrate the next holy feast at their real homes”.

The Darfur Displaced and Refugees Association wishes the Islamic nation, especially the displaced and the refugees, a blessed Eid El Fitr.

Hussein Abu Sharati, spokesman for the Association, told Radio Dabanga from Kalma camp in South Darfur that he hopes that peace, security, and justice will prevail soon in Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile.
