Darfur-Darfur Dialogue meetings in Mellit

On Monday, a Darfur-Darfur Dialogue consultation meeting took place in Mellit, North Darfur, on the option for peaceful coexistence in the area.
Some 150 representatives of various Mellit civil society sectors came together to discuss security issues, the restoration of the rule of law, sustainable development, peaceful coexistence, and the situation of the displaced in the locality.
The meeting is part of a series of conferences organised by the Darfur-Darfur Dialogue Committee, the joint UN-AU peacekeeping mission in Darfur (Unamid), and civil society organisations.
A similar meeting was held in North Darfur’s Kabkabiya on the same day, organised by Unamid, civil society organisations, and the Centre for Peace Studies of the University of El Fasher.
