Child killed in Darfur shelling

A child was killed at Tala village 50 km west of Dubo El Omda in Tawila locality (popularly known as eastern Jebel Marra) when an explosive shell fell on her home on Monday.

A child was killed at Tala village 50 km west of Dubo El Omda in Tawila locality (popularly known as eastern Jebel Marra) when an explosive shell fell on her home on Monday.

A member of Meimouna’s family told Radio Dabanga that the shell was fired by the government troops stationed at the Deribat base.

He said that at 8 pm on Monday, the troops fired heavy artillery shells that lasted for 15 minutes.

He said that one of the shells fell at the house of Ahmed Yousef at Tala village which killed 12-year-old Meimouna instantly.
