Members of the military intelligence in Central Darfur detained a young man in the market of Nierteti on Thursday afternoon.

A relative of the arrested told Radio Dabanga that four members of the military intelligence arrived in a vehicle at the market. They took Yousef Mohamed Adam (22 years) from the street with them and drove to the military garrison. They did not tell him what he was held for.

Yousef Mohamed Adam is a displaced person who lives in the Garsila camp in Nierteti locality. The relative expressed his fears that he will be tortured during his detention.

Last month, the military intelligence forces arrested a a student of the Faculty of Education at the University of El Geneina and a youth leader in Nierteti's Northern Camp for displaced people.
