Camp market closed ‘indefinitely’ after attacks by militants, W. Darfur

The market committee in Armankul camp in Sirba locality, West Darfur, decided to close “indefinitely”, as of Saturday, following a week of repetitive attacks and violent looting incidents by pro-government militants.Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a displaced from the camp said that pro-government militants have been targeting the camp’s market for one week and that the militants take goods without paying for them. Shop owners are attacked when they attempt to stop the militants, the displaced added.The displaced also claimed that the militants attack the homes of displaced at night, assaulting people and looting their belongings.File photo
