Camp blaze consumes 37 homes in Central Darfur

A massive fire that broke out at Bindisi camp for the displaced in Central Darfur on Thursday destroyed 37 houses and large quantities of food and agricultural crops.
“Luckily no casualties occurred,” one of the victims reported to Radio Dabanga.
“More than a ton of sacks of grain, 30 sacks of dried okra, and 20 sacks of ground nuts were lost too.”
He appealed to the Central Darfur authorities to provide assistance to those affected, “who are now living in the open with no food or cover”.
