Boy killed, brothers attacked in West Darfur

A basic school pupil was killed on the way to work near Ardamata camp for displaced people on Thursday.

A basic school pupil was killed on the way to work near Ardamata camp for displaced people on Thursday.

The displaced Mohammed Abdullah Saadallah, a schoolboy and his two brothers were on their way from Ardamata camp to Azirni in Kereinik locality, where they would cultivate the farmlands.

A relative of the victim told Radio Dabanga that a gunman opened fire on the brothers. The reason for the attack is unknown. Mohamed was killed on the spot while his brothers narrowly escaped death.

On their way to the cultivation area the brothers passed a tribal settlement. Last week, tension among local clans erupted again. The incident has been reported to the police, the relative added.
