Bombings destroy church and 8 houses in Sudan –rebels

Eight homes and a church were destroyed and a village was burned by bombings by the Sudanese government in South Kordofan on Monday, a rebel group says.Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, spokesman of the Sudan People Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N), told Radio Dabanga an Antonov airplane dropped “firebombs” on several towns in Boram county at 1:00pm. The aircraft also dropped one bomb on Angolo village, destroying a church, and one bomb on Toroje “causing material losses”. Lodi said the Al Dar community was hit by one shell, which burned it and destroyed eight houses from the following owners: Tutu Alful, Yacob Kuku Sabun, Yacob Tutu Al Atash, Morkos Tia Al Far and Krnoq  Deria, he said.Radio Dabanga could not contact the Sudanese army for comments.Radio Dabanga file photo
