Arab League have no obstacles in their visit to Darfur

February 16 - 2010 KHARTOUM

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied that any group could have hampered the Arab League delegation in Darfur or prevent the opening of facilities in the region. The denial of the ministry comes after reports that forces of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) of Minni Minawi prevented access of the delegation to Barka village in North Darfur. They were supposed to go there to open school facilities. Spokesperson of the ministry of Foreign Affairs Mouawiya Osman Khalid told Radio Dabanga that the time factor prevented the visit. He added that the visit will be rescheduled at a later date.
