40% of registered newly displaced in Darfur received aid: OCHA

Of the more than 200,000 registered newly displaced people in Darfur since January 2015, 79,000 people have received some form of humanitarian assistance. Access restrictions and continued insecurity has prevented the United Nations humanitarian office (OCHA) and partners from verifying a further 130,000 people. These people are reported to have been displaced by fighting, in areas including in East Jebel Marra.
