The flooding of the Wadi Bilal River in South Darfur has caused displacement of more than 1200 families, a local aid organization, said in a press statement on Wednesday.The river flooded the city of Tulus for the second time on Thursday causing destruction of more than 700 houses and a girls’ high school in the southern city of South Darfur. The families are now living in the open without food or shelter.

The flooding of the river began earlier last week when the Wadi Bilal river’s course had been re-directed.
