Minister of Finance calls for raising school enrollment in Darfur

The federal Minister of Finance Ali Mahmoud, who is charged with implementing the government’s strategy in Darfur, said that capacity of schools should be raised to accommodate more children in schools and train more teachers.

The federal Minister of Finance Ali Mahmoud, who is charged with implementing the government’s strategy in Darfur, said that capacity of schools should be raised to accommodate more children in schools and train more teachers. Mahmoud said that the percentage of Darfuri children who attend school is between 40 and 50%, and this is a small percentage. The average attendance is about 49%, the finance minister said.
