Two young women have been abducted by armed militiamen in Darfur’s Jebel Marra. Their families are distraught as there has been no communication from the kidnappers thus far.

Two young women have been abducted by armed militiamen in Darfur’s Jebel Marra. Their families are distraught as there has been no communication from the kidnappers thus far.

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the militiamen intercepted a group of four women on the way from Sina village north of Al Malam in South Darfur on Wednesday afternoon.

The men riding camels seized Kitom Ibrahim Juma (18), and Ibrahim Hamid (22) and made off in the direction of Jaber in west Jebel Marra. Two other women managed to escape.

In a separate incident, armed herdsmen raidedthe village of Karboos in east Jebel Marra. They robbed the villagers of several sheep, cows and donkeys at gunpoint, and fled.
