Workshops held in Darfur prior to Doha

The Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) initiated a series of workshops to identify the needs and priorities of the five states of Darfur prior to the donors’ conference in Doha, Qatar, next December. The workshops were initiated on Sunday, 23 September, in Nyala, South Darfur, according the Minister of Reconstruction and Development of the DRA. Minister Taj Al Din Bashir Nyam told Radio Dabanga that the workshop in South Darfur will likely be concluded on Tuesday. He explained the complete results will be presented during the donors’ conference in Doha.Nyam added that delegations representing the whole state attended the workshop, including 23 displaced persons, political forces outside the government and representatives of the civil society. The political parties present at the workshop are: the Communist Party, the Popular Congress and the Ba’ath party, the minister pointed out.The minister told Radio Dabanga that another workshop began in East Darfur on Monday and that the last one will be held in Central Darfur.
