A raid by members of the Sudanese Military Intelligence west of Delling, resulted in the death of a villager on Sunday.

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that members of the Military Intelligence (MI) force entered Hajar Jawad on Saturday in search of a person. When they were unable to find him, the group returned to their base in Delling, in the northern part of South Kordofan.

On Sunday villagers were surprised by the return of the MI members who reportedly killed Musa Abukalam, and beat everyone in the vicinity, causing a number of them various injuries.

Witnesses also reported that the attackers stole money, mobile phones and other property belonging to the villagers.

One week ago, MI imposed restrictions on people in Delling locality restricting the purchase of basic commodities such as sugar and flour. They claimed that the local population aided the armed movement and smuggled these goods to rebel-hold areas.
