Village pillaged near Korma in North Darfur

A man was killed in an attack by militiamen on the village of Sandeigo, near Korma in North Darfur on Tuesday. “Government-backed militiamen shot Mohamed Ali Handal (41) on Tuesday, when they were on their way to Sandeigo village. Handal died instantly. They then pillaged the entire village”, one of the victims told Radio Dabanga. “They also took about 200 cows from Mousa Hamid Ibrahim and Abdallah Haroun.”   The source said that the killing took place at a distance of about 1 km from the Sudanese army base in Korma. He appealed via Radio Dabanga to the United Nations and the African Union to provide protection to the people living in the rural areas around Korma from the continuous militia attacks on their villages and farms.
