The explosion of a remnant of war caused the death of a 12-year-old child and the wounding of two others in a camp for displaced people near El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, on Wednesday.

A Zamzam camp coordinator informed Radio Dabanga about the incident. “Three children found the remains of rocket-propelled grenades (RPG) near Zamzam. They took it to their house and began to play with it, but it soon exploded.”

One of them, Saber Abdelrazag (12) died on the spot. El Nur Yagoub Saleh (3) and Jamal Ibrahim Adam (5) sustained serious injuries. They are being treated at a hospital in El Fasher.
