UNAMID vehicle seized, driver abducted

An armed group abducted a vehicle belonging to UNAMID along with the driver whose name is Omer Haroun. There was also an unidentified foreigner in the vehicle. The incident occurred Friday in the city of Nyala. Sources said that the peacekeepers did not learn of the abduction until Sunday because the Mission’s staff was not on duty during the weekend. The fate of the two persons and the vehicle is not known.
