Unamid car runs over displaced girl in North Darfur

A vehicle belonging to the joint UN-AU Mission in Darfur (Unamid) ran over a girl near the Abbasi camp for the displaced in Mellit in North Darfur. Two herders killed a member of the paramilitary Popular Defence Forces (PDF) in Tawila locality on Sunday.
An Abbasi camp elder told Radio Dabanga that the driver did not stop after the accident. He said that the life of Murra El Tijani Idris (7) could have been saved “if someone had intervened immediately”.
The incident was filed to Unamid and the police in Mellit.

Scuffle

PDF member Abdallah Adam was killed near Dibla village, south-east of Shangil Tobaya in Tawila locality, on Sunday. In a scuffle between him and two herders, he was fatally hit with an axe on the head.

A rescue team formed by the Popular Defence Forces and people of the area managed to seize the two perpetrators, and handed them to the police.
