Two girls gang-raped in Bindisi, Central Darfur

Two displaced girls were gang-raped by three militiamen in Bindisi locality on Saturday.
The girls, aged 12 and 10, left Bindisi camp early in the morning to collect firewood in the area between Bindisi and Bergei, a camp sheikh told Radio Dabanga.
“Three militiamen wearing military uniforms, one of them carrying an axe, intercepted them two kilometres east of the camp,” he said.
“When the girls resisted, they hit one of them with the axe on her hand, after which they raped them alternately for four hours, and fled.”
The sheikh said that when the girls did not come home, Bindisi camp residents formed a search party and found them in a very bad condition. They were taken to Bindisi Hospital for treatment and the attack was reported to the police.
