Two South Darfur displaced farmers have been transferred to Gireida hospital ‘in serious condition’ following a militia attack on Friday.
A witness told Radio Dabanga that Yousif and Issa Mohammed of camp Gireida in South Darfur were attacked by 12 pro-government militia members riding camels, while they were cultivating their land at Abdos area, north of Gireida.
Yousif suffered head wounds, while Issa was shot in the shoulder and back. The witness complained that “law enforcement authorities have done nothing to hunt-down the perpetrators, despite their commitment to protect the citizens during the planting season”.
