Two die in Abbala attack in Tawila, North Darfur

Two people were shot dead and two others wounded, in an attack on Taradona village, near the town of Tawila, on Monday. Army forces intervened. One of the attackers was killed and seven others detained.

“A group of militatnt Abbala tribesmen attacked Taradona, about 20 km south of Tawila, on Monday evening,” omda Mukhtar Bosh, coordinator of the Tawila camps for the displaced, informed Dabanga.

“Zakariya Ateem Ismail and Abdallah Ali Abdelkarim were shot dead, and Jamal Musa Abubaker and Adam Abubaker Khalid were injured in the attack,” he said. “Those Janjaweed plundered the houses and took all the livestock.”

Bosh added that the people of the village requested help from the army forces stationed at Khazan Tunjur. “The soldiers responded, and thwarted more assaults and pillaging. They killed one of the attackers, and detained seven others.”
